You can find maps of the city at all the New York City Visitors Centers and at the subways stations and public transportation depots. You’ll want to carry a good street map with you at all times. Sometimes the street names can be a bit confusing and having a map will let you make sure you’re always headed in the direction you want to go. The next thing you have to do is decide which way is north and which way south – when you set out take some time to check this out. Otherwise when you go into a shop, come out and get to an intersection, you will know where you are but also have a way of knowing which way is north, which way is south!
